Kevin Sloan

Mr. Sloan has been at the firm for almost 10 years and litigates exclusively in the area of first-party property damage claims for building and property owners from weather events, be it Hurricanes, named storms, wind events, tornadoes, or hail, as well as from fires and catastrophic water events from sprinklers and pipe bursts. His practice revolves primarily around claims for hotels, multi-family apartment complexes, restaurants, and other commercial properties.

He also has experience handling issues of products liability, serious personal injuries, automobile accidents, and premises liability claims. He worked previously for several years as a litigator on the defense/insurer side in everything from products liability and auto accidents to food defect and toxic tort personal injury matters. Mr. Sloan has traveled across the country for trials, and was on the trial team of the largest hurricane trial verdict in Louisiana from Hurricane Laura. Mr. Sloan is also a civil mediator in Louisiana.

Mr. Sloan obtained his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and his law degree from Tulane University Law School where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Sloan began his legal career with a clerkship with Judge Christopher Bruno at the Civil District Court in Orleans Parish and has since practiced in state courts throughout Louisiana and Texas, and in all Louisiana and Texas federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit. Kevin lives in New Orleans with his wife, Brittany, their Goldendoodle, and two cats that he wishes were dogs.
