Matthew J. Bordelon

Matthew J. Bordelon is an Associate Attorney at Gauthier Murphy & Houghtaling LLC, where he primarily practices first-party insurance litigation. Having joined the firm in 2021, Mr. Bordelon has represented numerous policyholders—including hotel owners, business owners, and homeowners—in a wide range of insurance-related disputes.  

Mr. Bordelon takes great pride in advocating zealously on behalf of those members of the community impacted the most by catastrophic loss. In his work, he utilizes his particular skillset and experience to resolve complex insurance disputes daily, representing policyholders against their insurers nationwide.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bordelon completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University, before attending law school at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. There, he became a board member and editor for the Journal of Public Interest Law, and would go on to author his first published scholarly article. He received further recognition for academic excellence in obtaining the highest grade in his Real Estate Transactions class, and further honed his oral advocacy skills as a member of Moot Court. Mr. Bordelon’s legal career has since been dedicated to plaintiffs’ work, reflecting his genuine commitment to fighting on behalf of those members of the community most in need.
